Under the Payung Rahmah initiative, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living plans to offer loan facilities to finance the purchase of vehicles and insurance to assist the bottom 40% of the household income group (B40). Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, its Minister, stated that he would hold several engagement sessions with banking institutions and insurance companies to fine-tune the initiative. "God willing," he said after officiating at a campaign in Mydin Subang Jaya here on Wednesday, "we will come up with a Rahmah insurance that can be offered to people who cannot afford a new car, but can only buy a second-hand car, but there is a protection scheme for their car" .

Earlier in his speech, Salahuddin stated that he had discussed his intention to meet with bankers with International Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz. Salahuddin stated that Zafrul, who was previously the finance minister, supports the move and is willing to work with him to make it a success. Meanwhile, Salahuddin thanked Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin) for its participation in the Payung Rahmah initiative, which began with Menu Rahmah and will now include the upcoming Jualan Rahmah programme for Ramadan and Hari Raya celebrations.
