2225847.jpg A significant special operation against commercial vehicles, targeted specifically at lorries transporting sand, will be launched by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), The Star reported. The decision was made in response to a recent collision involving 14 vehicles and a sand-loaded truck in Putrajaya that left two people dead.
All state JPJ directors have been given instructions to carry out these special operations, according to Aedy Fadli Ramli, the Deputy Director-General of JPJ's Planning and Operations. The intention is to strictly enforce laws against commercial vehicles that carry excessive loads because they are against the law and a danger to other road users. These operations will be overseen by the state JPJ directors, while the Enforcement Division at JPJ headquarters will keep a close eye on things and give the top brass and the Ministry of Transportation a thorough report. 20932.jpg

Ramli emphasised the significance of these operations in ensuring road safety during a press conference held following an enforcement operation at the Awan Besar Toll Plaza. Additionally, he stated that the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), which will decide what further actions to take, would receive the Inspection and Safety Audit (JISA) report regarding the accident on Monday. a9aaeba3-kemalangan-putrajaya-whatsappic-200923.jpg

Ramli clarified that, at this time, the report's specifics cannot be released. He assured the public that JPJ is investigating the accident thoroughly as per the direction of Transport Minister Anthony Loke. The Royal Malaysia Police recently forwarded the accident report to JPJ, which will help with their investigation.

JPJ hopes to address the issue of overloaded lorries and stop similar accidents from happening in the future with the upcoming special operations. The department's focus on commercial vehicles hauling excessive loads is intended to improve traffic safety and safeguard other road users. State JPJ directors and the Enforcement Division of the JPJ headquarters will work together on these operations to ensure a thorough approach to enforcement and monitoring.
