The APMC is coming to Sepang International Circuit this year!

The Asia Pacific Motorsport Championship (APMC) is slated to be held at the Sepang International Circuit this month. Organised by the Motorsport Association of Malaysia (MAM), this inaugural, one-of-its-kind event is set to revolutionise and elevate the region’s motorsport scene.

Taking inspiration from the successful biennial FIA Motorsport Games, the APMC is aimed to provide a ‘cost-effective’ access to the motorsport world for burgeoning local talent, thus providing a unique opportunity for emerging talents around the region to garner a broader recognition in this prestigious stage.

Commenting on this inaugural motorsport event, MAM president Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir said, “As organisers of the inaugural championship, we are pleased to have been selected by the FIA to host and action-packed weekend of motorsport excitement, showcasing the region's top talents. This nomination is testament to us in MAM and Malaysia as a whole to be a leading contributor in the growth and development of Motorsports in the Asia Pacific Region.

“APMC is all about opening doors to an international stage, allowing competitors to share their passion and skills with a wider audience. Teams, drivers, and participants will benefit from the exposure and experience that only an event of this magnitude can provide,” Tan Sri Mokhzani added.

Aside from being the region’s first-of-its-kind motorsport event, the APMC is also getting full support from the global motorsports governing body, the FIA. In supporting the APMC’s effort to revolutionise motorsport in this region, FIA president Mohamed Ben Sulayem said, “We saw how successful the FIA Motorsport Games has been in the past few years, and it’s a fantastic initiative to have that same concept now in the Asia Pacific region.”

“With the biennial FIA Motorsport Games not being held this year, this is also a great opportunity for competitors to showcase their skills for potential opportunities when the Games return next year,” the FIA president added.
