This is the new LEVC L380, an all-electric MPV, and it's  latest launch from Geely-owned subsidiary London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) - the same folks behind the LEVC TX - better known as the iconic London Black Cab. According to a report by CarNewsChina, parent company Geely has put in application for a sales licence in China.

Additionally, the L380 will be produced at the LEVC New Energy Automobile plant in Zhejiang, China where the LEVC TX is also assembled.

This large MPV sees its cabin offer both six- and eight-seat configuration options, the latter offering a 2-2-2-2 seating layout and a reported kerb weight of 2,805 KG. This abundance of cabin space is likely borne out of its large size and dimensions - 5,316 MM long with a 3,185 MM wheelbase, 1,998 MM tall, and 1,940 MM wide.

Powering the LEVC L380 is a single 200 kW (268 HP) motor supplied by Viridi E-Mobility Technology, with a top speed of 170 km/h. Said motor is juiced by a ternary NMC-type battery pack manufactured through the CATL–Geely joint venture. However the battery capacity is still not disclosed.

The LEVC L380 is developed on LEVC’s Space Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform, a modified version of Geely’s SEA platform designed for electric commercial vehicles.

Previously codenamed XE08, it is unclear whether the LEVC L380 will be produced exclusively for the British market, but Geely's application for a Chinese sales licence suggests a broader market.

Fuelling that speculation too are these images featured depicting that both a left-hand-drive (LHD) and right-hand-drive (RHD) versions will be built, the latter for the UK and the former for markets like China.

Should the LEVC L380 be introduced as a global product, it would go head-to-head with other models in this burgeoning EV MPV space. Key new segment entries here incldue the Volvo EM90, Xpeng X9, and Maxus Mifa 9.
