In a bid to end the year on a high note, many CPOs are rushing to activate as many EV charging stations as possible across the country, and we’ve covered the majority of the notable ones in recent weeks. One such CPO is Gentari, which now has over 310 charging stations (public and private).

The latest amongst Gentari’s EV charging stations established over the last couple of days were two DC charging locations at Petronas NKVE and Petronas R&R Sungai Perak Northbound. Next to that too comes four new AC (destination changing) stations in Klang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan - Villea Port Dickson, Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club, and D Street Mall, Kota Seriemas.

Petronas NKVE Northbound

Gentari’s newest charging station closest to us Klang Valley folks is located at the NKVE Petronas Northbound. This facility houses three Kempower satellite units with a dynamic output of 150kW per nozzle. However for the time being, satellite unit No. 2 is throttled down to 80kW, likely due to the limited power supply from the TNB power grid.

Petronas R&R Sungai Perak Northbound

Meanwhile the DCFC housed at Petronas R&R Sungai Perak Northbound sees a single cabinet, dual-nozzle type installed that offers a maximum dynamic output of 180 kW per nozzle. Both these DC charging facilities see kWh-based charging rates of RM1.50/kWh. These dynamic chargers would intelligently disperse more power to vehicles that have the lowest state of charge (SOC), hence best to keep your charge-ups to a maximum of 80% if possible.

Both these DCFCs are stationed at high traffic Petronas outlets with amenities such as F&B, toilets and surau so that EV users would be able to rest, relax and rejuvenate while their EVs are being charged.

Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club

As for the AC charging stations, the facility at AEON Bukit Tinggi Klang would house four (4) 22 kW and six (6) 7 kW chargers while Villea Port Dickson would have three (3) 22 kW chargers. As for the two stations at Kota Seriemas, the Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club facility features three 11 kW charging points while D Street Mall gets one 22 kW and two 11 kW AC charger units.

All AC charging sees a fixed rate charging fee of RM0.20/minute levied with exception to the AC Charging stations in AEON Bukit Tinggi Klang where a 22 kW charge would be RM0.18/minute while 7 kW would go for RM0.13/minute.

All these new changing stations mentioned are now accessible via the Jomcharge, ChargEV or Setel apps thanks to the tri-party agreement that these three parties entered into recently.
