The Malaysian Malay Vehicle Dealers and Importers Association (PEKEMA) demonstrated its commitment to fighting corruption by paying a courtesy visit to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The president of PEKEMA, Datuk Mohamed Nazari Noordin, expressed gratitude to MACC for the cooperative initiative, which aims to improve the two parties' relationship.

"One of the proposals discussed is the implementation of a special program under the Corruption Act and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for PEKEMA member companies. WhatsApp-Image-2024-01-24-at-17.48.02-full_normal.jpg

"It aims to provide PEKEMA members with an in-depth understanding of the investigative procedures carried out by MACC in a case," he said.
Datuk Mohamed Nazari held the meeting for one hour with MACC Chief Commissioner, Tan Seri Azam Baki at MACC Headquarters
The main focus of the meeting was on joint initiatives and strategic cooperation aimed at countering the signs of corruption and power abuse.

The visit is regarded as a first step toward fostering collaboration between the business community and anti-corruption organizations in the hopes of realizing the shared objective of establishing a corruption-free society in Malaysia. WhatsApp-Image-2024-01-24-at-17.48.03-full_normal.jpg

The management of PEKEMA as well as Datuk Wan Sazrudeen Datuk Wan Zaid, the deputy president, were also in attendance.

Azam stated that in the meantime, his side is willing to work closely with PEKEMA to improve the efficacy of Malaysia's anti-corruption initiatives.

"It is hoped that the relationship between MACC and PEKEMA can be strengthened through knowledge sharing in the future by organizing programs such as forums related to corruption issues and explanations about MACC Acts," he added.
