Notably, Malaysia stands as the first market in the region to launch the Leapmotor C10.

As a refresher, the Leapmotor C10 is positioned a D-segment offering, and it has the footprint for which too – 4,739 MM long with a 2,825 MM wheelbase, 1,900 MM wide and 1,680 MM tall. However, unlike most typical D-segment SUVs, it offers just two-rows of seats for five.

Underpinning a proprietary Leapmotor platform and architecture, the Leapmotor C10 packs a 69.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) type battery pack that juices a single rear-mounted e-motor that offers 218 PS and 320 NM. This setup enables 0-100 KM/H sprints in 7.5 secs too.

From today's launch, details such as charging speeds were released and, typical of a Chinese EV, AC charging speeds are limited at just 6.6 kW, whilst DC rapid-charging speeds are capped at 84 kW instead.

Critically, said battery offers up to 424 KM of WLTP-rated range. As for charging, the Leapmotor C10 is typically Chinese in a sense where its AC charging input is capped at just 6.6 kW, which sees full re-charges attained in just a little over six hours.

As for DC rapid-charging, the C10’s architecture can draw up to a maximum of 84 kW. At this speed, the 69.9 kWh battery pack mentioned early can be re-charged from 30-80% in roughly 30 minutes.

Stellantis Malaysia also emphasised that Malaysia-bound units of the C10 benefit with special chassis tuning done by Stellantis in Italy at the same provig ground used by Maserati.

As this is an export version, Malaysia-bound Leapmotor C10 units benefits with a chassis that’s specially tuned and refined by Stellantis’ chassis tuning team rooted in Balocco, Italy – where the famed Maserati brand’s proving ground is also situated.

We’ve detailed much of the exterior and interior design prior, but it’s worth refreshing your memory that it boasts full-LED lighting front and aft with connecting lightbars spanning across both front and rear fascia, distinct 20-inch ‘Trident’ alloys, and an overall minimalist look.

No Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is available, but the infotainment touchscreen does boast built-in satellite navigation, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity functions.

Inside, the cabin is also equally minimalistic in design, though the dash is furnished with two digital displays – a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a massive 14.6-ich central infotainment touchscreen. The latter is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip too.

Said infotainment does NOT come loaded with either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but does instead feature built-in satellite navigation function, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and it’s paired with an 840-watt 12-speaker surround audio suite.
