The Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) has identified several strategic locations for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations as part of its goal to roll out 500 chargers across Putrajaya by 2030.

Currently, just 23 charging stations are operational, with plans to increase that number to 50 by the end of the year. This announcement was made by PPj president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud during the launch of a new AC charging station at Putrajaya Equestrian Park, featuring three 7kW chargers, all accessible through the GentariGo app.

“We are excited to open this new station in partnership with a private entity that shares our vision for accelerating the city's journey towards sustainability,” said Fadlun. He further highlighted that the initiative to expand EV charging stations aligns with Putrajaya’s vision of becoming a low-carbon city while addressing the growing needs of EV users.

New locations earmarked for upcoming charging stations include Laman Perdana, the PPj Complex, Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Taman Saujana Hijau, Marina Putrajaya, Putrajaya Sentral, and Putrajaya Lake Club.

Fadlun also emphasised that the new facility at Putrajaya Equestrian Park, developed in collaboration with Gentari, showcases Putrajaya’s efforts to partner with global energy leaders in advancing EV infrastructure for both residents and visitors.
