The newly-launched second-gen Xpeng P7 gains a special ‘Wing Edition’ in China, featuring scissor-style doors.

Just weeks after making its global debut, Xpeng has finally unveiled the official images of its new, second-gen Xpeng P7 “Wing Edition.” As its name suggests, this special variant of the P7 comes standard with sporty scissor-style doors, plus some other exterior and interior features over the standard model.

These scissor doors on the new P7 Wing Edition work pretty much the same as the previous P7 Wing Edition model, where the doors open upwards and outwards to give the saloon a wing-like look, especially from the front angle.

As for the rest of its exterior, the new P7 Wing Edition also gets an exclusive matte silver paint job, plus several carbon fibre trims around the exterior parts like the side mirror caps and fenders. Completing the exterior kit upgrade are the new 21-inch forged wheels the P7 Wing Edition rolls on.

The new P7 Wing Edition also gets some additional features inside, with the most contrasting one being the new “Orange Radiance” colour scheme and upgraded Dinamica sport seats. These orange bits are mated to several dark trims like the illuminated door sills, as well as some forged carbon fibre trims on the steering wheel, central console, and many more.

Powertrain specs remain unchanged from the standard model, as the special P7 Wing Edition is also offered in two variants just like its ‘wingless’ twin. The single-motor RWD variant is rated at 270 kW (362 hp), juiced by a 74.9-kWh LFP battery pack for up to 702 km of CLTC range.

Meanwhile, the dual-motor AWD variant delivers a combined output of 437 kW (586 hp) and up to 750 km of CLTC range thanks to its larger 92.2 kWh NMC battery pack.

Pre-sales for the all-new Xpeng P7 Wing Edition have already commenced in China, with CarNewsChina reporting the special model will retail around CNY 400,000 (RM235,028). With the standard P7 garnering more than 10,000 orders within a few minutes since its pre-sales commenced, we can expect the Wing Edition to get the same hype as well.
