XPeng globally rolled-out of its latest over-the-air (OTA) software upgrade called XOS 5.8.0. Issued since Aug 25, it’s the brand’s third major update this year, following XOS 5.4.5 in Jan and 5.6.0 in May.

This latest patch brings a slew of new features across intelligent driving, cabin comfort, and connected services fronts. More than a routine patch, XOS 5.8.0 builds on driver feedback and shows how the company is delivering tech that feels natural, personal, and more refined.

A major highlight is Human-Machine Co-Driving, a feature which now allows drivers to steer while Lane Centering Control is engaged, creating smoother and more confident handling in real-world conditions. Adaptive Cruise Control has also been tuned for better cornering and gentler braking.

Similar to Tesla, XPeng now introduces Pet Mode for the first time. When activated, the car locks itself, closes the windows, and maintains a safe cabin temperature. Owners also receive real-time alerts through the XPeng app.

Entertainment gets a lift too with KaraFun, an in-car karaoke app available from XPeng’s app store.

Some market-specific refinements have also been rolled out. Air-conditioning can now cool down to 16°C, a welcome change for tropical climates like Malaysia. The Dashcam gains an Emergency Recording mode for added peace of mind.

Additionally the XCOMBO system has been expanded to support 21 languages and more than 700 modular functions. Users can create or edit scenarios directly from the car’s screen or through the mobile app, while preset modes for safety, comfort, entertainment, and efficiency make switching setups simple.

“With the rollout of XOS 5.8.0, XPeng now creates a more diverse, convenient, and intelligent mobility space for our users worldwide,” said Alex Tang, Head of International Development of Services.

He added, “We will continue listening closely to our global community, ensuring every step forward is driven by their needs and aspirations.”

A quick note however, availability of features will still depend on the model and local government regulations.
