The Lamborghini Sian FKP 37’s 1:1 Scale LEGO Technic Tribute

In the beginning it was just a 1:8 scale model, now it has become a 1:1 scale life-size tribute. The Lamborghini Sian, made from more than 400,000 LEGO Technic blocks.
Technically, more than 154 different types, including 20 specially molded LEGO pieces were used to mimic the futuristic complexity and the distinctive silhouette of the real Raging Bull.

Outstandingly mirrored, the model features the exact same dimensions as the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, right down to the last millimeter.
Weighing in at 2,200 kg, it measures at 4,980 mm in length, 2,101 mm in width and 1,133 mm in height.

Forming its exterior shell, the perfectly proportioned chassis is covered with interconnected made-to-measure hexagonal LEGO Technic pieces.
As the word Sian means ‘lightning’ or ‘thunderbolt’ in Bolognese, the headlights that strike across its body have been made to flash like a thunderbolt, just like the Y-shaped lights on the real Sian.

The design also has the six-sided shape of the Italian sports car’s iconic hexagonal tail lights and the shape of its exhaust. Both the front and rear lights can be turned on and off.
Interestingly, this is the first large-scale model by the LEGO Group to have paint-effect UV color coating, which is applied to make the model longer lasting.

Said color perfectly matches the hue of the initial 1:8 scale model, and was done by the official Lamborghini paint shop to ensure that the life-size model had a fitting finish.
Inside, the extremely precise detailing ensues. It includes a LEGO brick steering wheel decorated with the famous Lamborghini badge and the Italian flag, an instrument panel and racing seats.

All in all, the construction process took 8,660 hours, which comprises 5,370 hours of development and 3,290 hours of production.
Responsible for this Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 LEGO Technic was 15 designers, engineers and construction specialists from the LEGO team in Kladno, the Czech Republic.
