The GWM Ora Good Cat has made its first local presence at the recent Malaysia Motor Expo (MME), ahead of its yet to be disclosed official launch.
During the three-day event, aside from GWM opening bookings for the EV, potential buyers were also able to take a closer look and test drive it on the road.

To begin with, the new subcompact EV has three variants, but only two of them, the 400 Pro and 500 Ultra’s specifications are what is confirmed at the moment.
Notably, the designation of the variants corresponds to the maximum driving range that each of them is able to deliver.
For the 400 Pro, it is powered by a 47.79-kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery, and provides a driving range of up to 400 Km (NEDC).
Whereas the 500 Ultra, harbouring in its chassis is a 63.14-kWh lithium-ternary battery, and offers a driving range of up to 500 Km (NEDC).

All variants underpin a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, which is a 105-kW front-wheel-drive single e-motor with 141 Hp, 210 Nm of torque, and 152 Km/h top speed.
Elsewhere, its build uses a MacPherson strut type suspension system at the front, a torsion beam suspension at the back, and an electric steering system.
As for the dimensions, it perches at 4,235 mm long, 1,825 mm wide, 1,596 mm tall and stretches with a wheelbase spanning 2,650 mm.
Pricing-wise, for Malaysia it has not yet been revealed by GWM, although it is expected to be between MYR 140,000 to MYR 160,000.
That said, further information on the Ora Good Cat EV can be obtained through GWM’s website at https://www.gwm.com.my.
