The innovative charging stations for public use, incorporating solar panels and BESS, is the first of their kind in Malaysia and will be rolled out moving forward in phases from 2023 to 2024, starting with four lay-bys along PLUS highways. All this future sites will offer up to 200 kW of DC charging power with four charging points each.

In addition, AC charging points at existing PETRONAS petrol stations at PLUS R&Rs and lay-bys will be upgraded to DCFC points, and Gentari will establish DCFC charging points at additional PETRONAS petrol stations along PLUS highways and nearby locations by 2024. This initiative aims to provide confidence to EV users travelling between states.
