MAS 2024: Here Are SIX Other Interesting Vehicles To See

If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve already got tickets to the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024) and you’ve made time to go this weekend. We’re also certain you’ve seen all the major launches and debuts from which that we’ve covered throughout the week since Press Day.
And if you thought there ought to be more, then you’d be right! In fact, there’s something for just about any kind of car and motorcycle enthusiasts to see, marvel, touch, and gawp at within the halls of MAEPS, Serdang until Sunday.
To that end, we’ve decided to whittle things down with six other key highlights you should check out at the show. From tactical combat vehicles, to the best of the local car tuning scene, right up to all-new EVs shown in Malaysia for the first time, here are SIX other vehicles you should see at MAS 2024.

1. Mildef Tarantula HMAV 4x4 – Hall D
Home-grown defence vehicles manufacturer Mildef (Mildef International Technologies Sdn Bhd) is present at MAS 2024 and, fresh from their recent appearance at DSA 2024 exhibition early this month are TWO variants of the firm’s Tarantula HMAV (High Mobility Armoured Vehicle).
Best of all? You not only get to see and size-up this all-terrain, all-conquering, and all-tactical transporter in the flesh, the folks at Mildef will even let you climb aboard into the ‘cockpit’ and get a feel of what life is like inside a vehicle that can withstand mines and IED blasts!
Whilst you can’t exactly buy the Tarantula for yourself, this is perhaps your only chance to get an up-close look and feel of it, and perhaps feel proud that such a capable combat-ready vehicle is proudly developed and made by highly skilled locals…

2. The Modified Stars Of IAM 2024 – Hall D
Just a few steps away from the Mildef Tarantula display, a special section of Hall D’s foyer has been allocated for the ROAD2IAM showcase featuring some of Malaysia’s finest tuned and modified cars on show.
The purpose of this mini-showcase is to give show-goers a tastes of what the upcoming International Auto Modified KL (IAMKL) 2024 show will offer when it takes place next month on June 8 and 9 at the KL Convention Centre.
Take our word on this – it’s only ‘mini’ in name. The showcase has all the staples of the local tuner car scene you can think of – JDMs, Euros, Kei cars, and more. Bonus: You can score your IAMKL 2024 show tickets here too!

3. The JPM Museo Collection – Hall D
Seasoned readers ought to know by now that CariCarz.com is already well acquainted with the JPM Museo collection. We last visited it during Halloween last year and were treated with the view of a collection that equally vast as it is rich in variation.
This year, the folks from JPM Museo are planning even more events, and they’ve brought a sizeable detachment from its main collection on show at MAS 2024 to promote which. Amongst them include classic icons and modern day heroes, as well as a few four-wheeled rarities – both new and old.
Besides their show cars, the JPM Museo team are having a sale for its their exclusive merchandise, as well as a selection of name-brand motorsports gear, all at special prices too. In other words, you can cop some racing gear at a bargain whilst marvelling at some pretty metal whilst you’re at it too.

4. The GAC AION Hyper HT – Hall A2
Besides launching the new AION Y Plus lifestyle EV crossover at the show, GAC AION brand distributors WTCA have another exciting EV on show at their booth. Called the GAC AION Hyper HT, it essentially is a Tesla Model Y-sized EV crossover packed with Tesla Model X-like features and tech.
A key feature to this mid-sized EV crossover are its Tesla-shaming powered ‘gullwing’ rear doors. Said rear ports, as well as the front two, are all intelligently powered, making entry and alighting the Hyper HT both easier and safer. Moreover, its EV powertrain’s outputs and promised range figures are promising too – up to 340 HP and 430 NM available, and up to 670 KM range too.
Best part? Insiders at WTCA have hinted that the AION Hyper HT could make landfall soon – within this year! Until its official launch, whenever that may be, this is your best chance for an early look at what promises to be the next highly sought after premium EV crossover.

5. The Citroën Ami Buggy Concept – Hall A2
Stellantis Malaysia’s debut appearance at MAS 2024 isn’t short of surprises, and we’re not just talking about the debut of the group’s new China-born Leapmotor EV brand, and the launch of the now localised (CKD) Peugeot Landtrek 4x4 pick-up truck either.
Carefully integrated into the group’s booth too are previews of what’s to come from the Citroën brand for Malaysia. A surprise addition here besides the C3 Aircross compact crossover is the novel Ami Buggy Concept.
It may be petite in size, but it certainly is very grande in character! That because unlike the regular Ami, this all-electric alternative urban mobility solution tech has been given a full-blown makeover as a go-anywhere, do-anything off-road machine. Certain too is how this will be hit with your kids!

6. Neta GT EV Sportscar – Hall A
Last but certainly not least, up-and-coming Chinese EV marque Neta Auto has got plenty of new metal on show at MAS 2024 too. However, what’s perhaps a very underrated display at its booth in the show’s main hall is this surprisingly attractive compact EV coupe that *MIGHT* enter the local market, depending on the reception for it at the show by YOU – THE MALAYSIAN PUBLIC.
Shown for the first time in Malaysia, the Neta GT is perhaps what the local EV market space sorely needs – an injection of sporty style and performance that promises to be AFFORDABLE. Key highlights here include its sleek coupe style matched with a full aerokit and striking 19-inch wheels, as well as a cabin that’s tech-laden and surprisingly spacious.
Crucially, said pretty exterior and innards are matched with promising substance. Both single- and dual-motor setups are available, the latter boasting up to 340 kW (462 HP) and 620 NM outputs to allow 0-100 KM/H sprints in just 3.7 seconds, respectably large 64.27 kWh and 78 kWh battery capacity choices with up to 580 KM (CLTC) range possible, and more.
