Malaysian motorists can now conveniently settle their traffic summonses through the MyJPJ app, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook announced earlier today. The new feature allows for quick and convenient summons payment.

According to Loke, "Technology like this not only simplifies the process for the public but also boosts JPJ’s efficiency. Digitalisation remains an ongoing journey, and JPJ must continue to evolve with technological advancements and the public’s needs," Loke said during the launch of JPJ’s new office at Galeria PJH.

Loke also highlighted the success of the MyJPJ app, which currently has over 11.5 million users. The app’s existing features such as renewal of the Malaysian Driving Licence and Motor Vehicle Licence, has contributed to a total revenue of RM291.03 Million.

Additionally, starting tomorrow (Jan 3) onwards, vehicle owners will be given six months to settle up to three specific traffic summonses at a special flat rate of RM150.

This offer, available until June 30, applies to summonses for exceeding the speed limit, violating traffic light rules, notice 114 (which requires the offender to be questioned) and notice 115 (duty to provide statements as evidence). These offences typically incur fines of RM300.

However, payments can only be made through JPJ counters, JPJ kiosks, mobile counters, or the MyJPJ app. Payments via other channels, including MyEG or Pos Malaysia, will not be accepted.

There are currently two million outstanding summonses under the Automated Awareness Safety System (AWAS).
