2025 smart #1 Gets Power Bump

Thanks to the smart #1 being a global model, buyers in Malaysia could soon have access to the latest facelifted variant offering a performance boost, along with subtle design tweaks.
Now in its third year of production, smart is set to upgrade and improve its first EV with more powerful electric motors and new wheel designs. Recent filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) confirmed these.
The single motor variants, known as Pro and Premium in Malaysia, will now feature a new rear e-motor rated at 250 kW (335 HP), marking a substantial 50 kW (67 HP) bump. Notably, this motor is shared with other Geely Group models - namely the Zeekr 009 and Lynk & Co 02 (Z20).

For those looking for a little more oomph, the smart #1 Brabus gains significant improvement with its dual-motor setup. This performance flagship now benefits with a combined output of 365 kW (489 HP), a 50 kW (67 HP) increase over the previous iteration. This enhanced output promises even more exhilarating acceleration and driving dynamics.
While the powertrain receives a major boost, exterior updates to the regular smart #1 is minimal. From images and specification revealed through MIIT filings, the most noticeable change is the introduction of new 18-inch, two-tone alloy wheels design wrapped in 235/50R18 tires.

However, the smart #1 Brabus, on the other hand, sees a slightly more comprehensive design update. This time around, smart has taken a more subtle approach, reducing the previously prominent red accents.
The front lower lip, side skirt pieces and rear diffuser does retain red detailing, but the once-bold red roof and side mirrors have been replaced with body-colored and black finished ones, respectively.
Even the red highlight in the front lower air intake has been swapped for black, creating a more refined and aggressive appearance.

Current smart #1 Brabus variant
Additionally, the Brabus variant now features new 10-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels, replacing the previous 5-spoke design. These new wheels are paired with 235/45R19 tires for a more dynamic stance and improved road grip.
No changes in size for the updated 2025 model year version filed with MIIT as it still sits 4,270 MM long with a 2,750 MM wheelbase, 1,822 MM wide, and 1,636 MM tall. The Brabus with a slightly aggressive bodykit does however sit some 30 MM longer.
According to CarNewsChina, the smart #1 could potentially see these updates introduced in overseas markets, including Malaysia, soon. These subtle enhancements are poised to keep the #1 just that bit more exciting over its rivalling Volvo EX30 and Zeekr X cousins.
