Aion Hyptec HT EV Teased for Malaysia – ROI Opens, Launching Soon?

Aion Malaysia has teased the upcoming Hyptec HT EV SUV, with its online registration of interests now open.
GAC Aion Malaysia has just published a teaser for its upcoming model, this time around being the Aion Hyptec HT. Published via its official Facebook page, Aion Malaysia has opened the registration of interests (ROI) for this upcoming sleek EV SUV, which can be done via its official website.

Also known as the Aion Hyper HT in native China, the upcoming Aion Hyptec HT was initially previewed in Malaysia back during last year’s Malaysia Autoshow (MAS 2024), where it became the centrepiece of GAC Aion’s booth. The Hyptec HT is essentially Aion’s midsize EV SUV fighter, belonging to the same category as the Xpeng G6, BYD Sealion 7, and the upcoming Zeekr 7X.

Despite being midsize, the Hyptec HT is noticeably larger than some of its aforementioned competitors, spanning 4,935 MM long, 1,920 MM wide, 1,700 MM tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,935 MM. Also setting it apart from other adversaries are the unique falcon rear doors, while its overall design looks pretty conventional, featuring a sporty coupe SUV bodystyle just like the Xpeng G6.

Given its more upmarket position over other Aion models, the Hyptec HT promises to offer a pretty lavish cabin setup. Key highlights include a massive 14.6-inch central infotainment display, ‘First Class’ rear seats with foldable tables, a 22-speaker sound system with Dolby Atmos, and many more.

As of now, the only powertrain details given by GAC Aion Malaysia for the upcoming Hyptec HT is that it will boast a maximum range of 600 KM. Should the stated range figure be based on the NEDC standards, then it’ll be on par with both the Indonesian and Thai-spec Hyptec HTs, where it features an 83.3-kWh battery pack and a single, rear-mounted (RWD) motor setup rated at 340 PS and 430 NM to enable a 5.9-second century sprint finish.
The Aion Hyptec HT currently retails from THB 1.449 million (RM188,788) in neighbouring Thailand, and in Indonesia it goes from IDR 685 million (RM182,925) onwards. Should GAC Aion Malaysia manage to price the Hyptec HT in the same region as their regional counterparts, this will bring this sleek EV SUV on par with some of its Chinese adversaries.
