2025 MG S5 EV Price Announced – From RM115,900

MG Motor Malaysia has announced the prices for its new MG S5 EV, starting from RM115,900 onwards.
Following a series of previews and package announcements, MG Motor Malaysia has finally announced the prices for its all-new electric crossover, the 2025 MG S5 EV. For our market, this B-segment EV SUV comes in three variants, with prices starting from RM115,900 for the entry-level COM variant, RM125,900 for the COM Long Range, and RM135,900 for the top-spec LUX Long Range.

For the first 500 customers who booked the MG S5 EV, MG Motor Malaysia is offering special rebates worth up to RM6,000, thus bringing the prices down to RM109,900, RM119,900, and RM129,900, respectively. Not to forget, these 500 lucky buyers are also entitled to a complimentary 7 kW home wallbox charger.
Included with said prices are a comprehensive warranty package, comprising a 7-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 180,000 km high-voltage battery pack warranty, and a separate 8-year or 160,000 km warranty for the drive motor and motor control unit.

As mentioned prior, the entry-level COM variant is juiced by a small 49-kWh pack offering up to 340 km of WLTP range, while the COM Long Range model gets a larger 62-kWh unit that expands its WLTP range to 430 km. The same battery pack is also used by the top-spec LUX Long Range variant, which grants it the same WLTP range of 430 km.
Regardless of variants, all Malaysian-spec MG S5 EVs will be powered by the same single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor rated at 168 HP and 250 Nm. Also shared across the board are the 7 kW AC charging capabilities, while DC charging speeds stand at 120 kW (COM & COM LR) and 150 kW (LUX LR) instead.

Visually, the MG S5 EV gets a pretty typical SUV crossover bodystyle with some distinct MG design cues. Some key highlights include the dual-stack LED headlights with MG’s signature ‘Racing Flag’ DRLs, stylish Arch Taillights, aggressive front and rear bumper design, and many more.
Dimension-wise, the MG S5 EV is on par with other entry-level EV SUVs in our market, spanning 4,476 mm long, 1,849 mm wide, 1,621 mm tall, and 2,730 mm wheelbase. Not to forget, a total of five exterior colorways will be available for the S5 EV, namely Arctic White, Monument Silver, Camden Grey, Dynamic Red, and Elegant Latte.

Those opting for the range-topping LUX Long Range variant will get additional equipment such as larger 18-inch alloy wheels plus several extra interior bits like a wireless charger, six speakers, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a heated leather steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, and a 360-degree parking camera.

Other key interior specs included in all variants of the MG S5 EV are the 12.8-inch central infotainment screen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital metre cluster, and a standard 453-litre boot space expandable to 1,441 litres including the underfloor compartment.
On the safety front, the new MG S5 EV gets a pretty comprehensive set of passive and active safety features, with the latter coming courtesy of the MG Pilot Custom ADAS suite. It includes several key ADAS functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK), Front and Rear Collision Warning (FCW, RCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and many more.

Those who are keen to size up the new MG S5 EV up close can visit MG Motor Malaysia’s “Dare to Love” Roadshow happening at the Centre Court, Ground Floor of the Mid Valley Megamall from May 20 to 25, 2025.
