KL Monorail Lift Upgrades At five stations Completed, Other six Due By May

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd recently announced that eight lifts at five monorail stations are now operational following renovations and safety checks.
Two lifts each at Imbi, Maharajalela, and Medan Tuanku stations, and one lift each at Hang Tuah and Raja Chulan stations are now fully functional.
The remaining eight lifts and one escalator at six other stations are undergoing final testing and permit applications, with completion expected by the end of May 2025.
This update, according to the firm, is part of a RM12.6 million allocation for maintenance, upgrades, and new facilities.
In 2024, the monorail service averaged 57,000 daily passengers, an 8% increase from the 52,000 daily passengers in 2023, as announced.
Prasarana Malaysia Berhad Group's chief operating officer, Amir Hamdan emphasized the importance of prioritizing those in need when using lift facilities.
"Rapid Rail will continue to be committed to providing an efficient, accessible, and inclusive public transport system for all," he stated.
