Petronas and Blueshark Team Up to Power e-Motorcycle Adoption

Petronas Dagangan Berhad and Blueshark Ecosystem Sdn. Bhd. have created a new joint venture - Blueshark Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
Through which. the goal is to grow the use of electric two-wheelers (2W-EVs) in Malaysia and support the country’s move toward greener transport under the National Energy Transition Roadmap.
The partnership began in 2022 after early success, and it sees both companies entering a more structured phase to expand their efforts nationwide.

Blueshark Malaysia will be the exclusive distributor of Blueshark electric motorcycles in Malaysia - with SoloEra being a key model sub-brand. The company will also run battery-swapping stations at selected Petronas service stations, allowing riders to quickly swap batteries instead of waiting to charge.
These battery-swapping services are already active in Klang Valley, Penang, and Johor, with plans to expand to more locations soon.

To help support and grow this ecosystem, Blueshark Malaysia is working with two important partners: Sharkgulf Technologies Group Limited (STGL) and EP Blueshark Sdn. Bhd.
STGL, based in China, is the original developer of Blueshark’s electric motorcycles. They supply advanced battery systems, intelligent powertrains and connected software that power the performance and safety features of the bikes. Their technology is what makes Blueshark motorcycles smart, efficient and user-friendly.

Meanwhile, EP Blueshark Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of EP Manufacturing Berhad (EPMB), will assemble the electric bikes locally in Malaysia. EPMB brings years of experience in the automotive sector, especially in the vehicle assembly space. Their role is key in making sure the bikes are built efficiently and meet local market needs.
Together, these partners are combining their strengths to build a full electric two-wheeler ecosystem - covering manufacturing, sales, servicing, and energy solutions.
