Proton Closes Q3 2025 With YTD Total Sales of 114,927 Units
Proton disclosed its latest monthly sales figures and it sees the national automaker closing Q3 with a modest 0.9% YoY increase in its YTD sales total of 114,927 units.

National automaker Proton disclosed its latest monthly sales figures earlier today. Having shifted a total of 13,395 units both domestically and abroad across Sept 2025, the automaker closed the third quarter (Q3) with a year-to-date (YTD) total sale of 114,927 units.
The latter marks a 0.9% year-on-year (YoY) increase versus the same period last year. Proton further notes its Sept 2025 sales figure noted prior coincides with Total Industry Volume (TIV) shrinking by 21.7% to an estimated 57,169 units in total for the month.
From which, Proton expects to chart a 23.4% market share for the month, and 19.9% YTD – it’s best figures for the year. As usual, Proton credits the feat down to key best-sellers like the recently refreshed X50 and X70 crossover SUVs.
The refreshed X50 compact crossover SUV continues to be a key best seller both domestically and abroad.

Starting with the 2025 X50 facelift model, Proton shifted 3,483 units in of which to customers last month. The firm adds that up to 33% of which consisted of upgrading buyers new to the brand too.
Furthermore, the refreshed X50 model is also credited with accelerating Proton’s overseas exports via its recently established Proton International Sales Corporation (PISC) arm. In fact, said compact crossover SUV’s overseas sales grew by 220% this year.
Altogether, Proton’s overseas exports totalled at 815 units for Sept 2025, bringing its YTD total exports up to 3,959 units too. The latter even marks a sizeable 56% YoY growth, and it also places the national automaker as Malaysia’s top auto exporter too.

With YTD total sales of 6,033, Proton also singled-out the X70 C-SUV for its sizeable 10.1% YoY sales growth.
Next, Proton also earmarked the sales growth of the larger X70 model. Said C-SUV offering saw a YTD sales total of 6,033 units shifted as of Sept 2025. In turn, this marked a 10.1% YoY increase form 2024 as well.
Ultimately though, Proton continues to be buoyed by its signature Saga model. Said entry level sedan nameplate’s monthly sales surpassed the 6,000 units mark for the third consecutive month in Sept 2025 with 6,058 units shifted.
Ultimately, the national automaker continues to see its signature Saga stand as its outright best-seller as its monthly sales surpassed the 6,000 units mark for the third consecutive month.

Despite seeing its current ‘MC2’ generation version going out of production recently, the Saga model’s sales momentum is expected to remain equally as high until its next-gen ‘MC3’ successor eventually launches later this year.
“Q3 of 2025 has been exceptionally good for the company and we plan to carry this momentum into the final three months of the year to both meet our volume target and act as a springboard for 2026,” remarked Zhang Qiang, Deputy CEO of Proton Edar.
