RHD Nio Firefly Production Confirmed, Singapore Planned As First Market
Production for right-hand-drive (RHD) versions of the Nio Firefly EV hatch pictured have reportedly begun.

Chinese EV maker Nio (Nio Inc.) revealed production of right-hand-drive (RHD) versions of models from its Firefly sub-brand has commenced. Additionally, CarNewsChina also reports that the first export market for which will be neighbouring Singapore.
Moreover, the same report indicates that Nio intends to market the Firefly sub-brand in more RHD markets too. Despite this confirmation, no firm timeline for either were disclosed, though we reckon it wouldn’t take this Chinese upstart long to get its RHD Firefly models shifted.
The same report confirms that neighbouring Singapore will be the first market to see RHD Nio Firefly models shipped to, but no firm timeline was iterated.

Since it first launched back in April, the Firefly sub-brand has rapidly grown its global market presence. It even saw first European deliveries commence in Aug, which comes less than four months after its debut in the Old Continent.
To date, Nio has delivered vehicles to key markets like the Netherlands, Norway, and Belgium. Further deliveries are set to commence in other markets like Denmark, Greece, Austria, Portugal, and Luxembourg.



Despite its miniature stature, the Nio Firefly is one tech-laden compact EV hatch that's also very safe.




As reported prior, the Nio Firefly EV hatch packs a 42 kWh battery pack promising a maximum CLTC-rated range of up to 420 KM. said pack juices an e-motor that powers the rear wheels (RWD) with 141 hp and 200 Nm.
Despite its miniature size, the Nio Firefly boasts a high-strength steel and aluminium alloy body construction with extra-wide dual front anti-collision beams plus dual front door anti-collision beams. Coupled with nine airbags, it’s also stands as one of the safest in its class.
On board, the Nio Firefly also sees its cabin sports a raised front central armrest allowing easy entry from both sides. It’s also brimmed with a 50-watt wireless fast-charging pad, as well as a novel magnetic anchor system compatible with various accessories.
