Pos Malaysia Takes First Step into Autonomous Logistics

Pos Malaysia has taken a meaningful step in modernising its operations with the launch of Malaysia’s first autonomous logistics vehicle, pointing to a future of smarter, more efficient and more sustainable postal services.
The unveiling was officiated by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, with Pos Malaysia Chairman Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Group CEO Charles Brewer, Autonomous Logistics Solutions (ALS) MD Alan Chong and ZelosTech MD Terry Zhou also present.

The launch was held alongside the signing of a collaboration agreement between Pos Malaysia and Zelos Malaysia, operated by ALS, paving the way for the rollout of autonomous, electric and lower-emission logistics solutions in local operations.
At the centre of the initiative is Zelos, a fully driverless, all-electric logistics vehicle designed for high-volume, point-to-point business deliveries. Through ALS, the platform makes its entry into Malaysia after being deployed in several overseas markets, including China, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.

The vehicle’s operations are supported by 5G connectivity from Digital Nasional Berhad, underlining the role of reliable, high-speed networks in enabling real-time control and safe autonomous movement.
For Pos Malaysia, the project reinforces its drive towards greater efficiency and sustainability. The addition of autonomous electric vehicles builds on its existing EV fleet, supporting efforts to cut emissions while improving day-to-day operational productivity.
The next phase will see a six-month proof-of-concept carried out in live operating environments, with Pos Malaysia and ALS working closely with the Ministry of Transport, JPJ and Futurise to ensure regulatory and safety requirements are met.
