Over 3,000 Proton e.MAS 5 Units Shifted In Jan 2026
It seems sales of the Proton e.MAS 5 EV hatch surpassed 3,000 units in Jan 2026.

PRO-NET, the new energy vehicle subsidiary of national automaker Proton, revelled on a high after closing Jan 2026 with a record-setting sales pace charged by the Proton e.MAS 5 EV Hatch.
According to PRO-NET, the firm successfully shifted 3,026 units of the EV hatch model mentioned. It was launched back in Oct 2025 priced at RM59,800 (Prime) and RM72,800 (Premium), though a RM3,000 launch rebate lowers both to RM56,800 and RM69,800 respectively.

The Proton e.MAS 5 charted the highest single model sales pace in PRO-NET's three-year history.

Notably, sales of the e.MAS 5 in Jan 2026 stood as the highest single model sales pace in PRO-NET’s three-year history. Moreover, sales of the e.MAS 5 didn’t just break records for PRO-NET, it nearly captured the highest sales for an EV in a single month in Malaysia too.
In fact, the Proton e.MAS 5 could very well now stand as the second-best selling model from Proton just behind its bread and butter the Saga. Additionally, the e.MAS 5 could also vault Proton past BYD to become Malaysia’s best-selling EV brand in Jan 2026 too.
The e.MAS 5 vault Proton e.MAS past BYD to become Malaysia's best-selling EV brand in Jan 2026 too.

“Delivering more than 3,000 units in a single month is a milestone that underscores both the strength of our product and the growing confidence in Malaysia’s EV future. We truly appreciate all Malaysians who have placed their trust in us,” says PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang.

As reported prior, Proton e.MAS sales totalled at 3,276 units in Jan 2026. Sales are expected to grow once the e.MAS 7 PHEV model officially launches later today.

Considering PRO-NET confirmed plans to extend its aforementioned RM3,000 launch rebate until further notice, expect the e.MAS 5 to continue charting high sales numbers in the months to come – perhaps more so once local assembly (CKD) commences.
We’ll also add that sales for the Proton e.MAS sub-brand should only grow further once the new e.MAS 7 PHEV model – the national automaker’s first ever plug-in hybrid (PHEV) offering – launches later today too.
