Tech Meets Elegance: LEPAS Just Dropped L6 & L4 Globally, Coming To Malaysia Soon?
![]()
If you’ve been following the EV scene lately, you know the drill: most cars are either hyper-aggressive "tech-bros" on wheels or minimalist bubbles that feel a bit... empty.
Enter LEPAS. Under the theme "Elegance Moves the World," the brand officially debuted its global lineup in Beijing, headlined by the world premiere of the LEPAS L6 and LEPAS L4.
Here’s why this is the "best of both worlds" moment we’ve been waiting for:
1. Leopard Aesthetics: Luxury That Doesn't Scream
LEPAS isn't trying to out-neon the competition. Instead, they’ve introduced "Leopard Aesthetics." Think low-slung, wide-body stances and signature "Hunting Eye" headlamps. It’s "Quiet Luxury" that looks expensive and composed, perfect for those who want to arrive in style without looking like they’re trying too hard.
2. The L6: Your High-Tech Urban Sanctuary

The LEPAS L6 is designed for the modern professional. It’s packed with features that actually solve daily struggles:
- Valet Parking Driver (VPD): Imagine hopping out at the Pavilion entrance and letting your car find its own spot. Yes, it can literally park itself while you walk away.
- Super AI Agent: This isn't just a voice assistant; it’s an intuitive partner. The cabin learns your routines and optimizes everything from driving scenarios to parking and in-cabin ambiance, ensuring a smoother, easier drive.
3. The L4: The "No-Compromise" City Slicker

Usually, "compact" means "basic," but the LEPAS L4, is here to kill that stereotype.
- 500km-Class Range: Despite its agile B-segment size, it packs enough juice to get you from KL to Penang on a single charge.
- 21 ADAS Features: You get small-car convenience for tight PJ parking spots, but the safety and tech of a flagship SUV.
4. The PHEV-First Strategy

While the global debut focused on EVs, LEPAS is taking a strategic, "best of both worlds" approach for its Malaysian arrival in H1 2026. By prioritizing Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV), the brand is directly tackling the #1 concern for local drivers: range anxiety.
The initial Malaysian lineup is headlined by two key models:
- LEPAS L8: The "big brother" flagship D-segment SUV. Its Super Hybrid system delivers a staggering 1,300km combined range, making it the ultimate "balik kampung" machine for those who want to lepas from the petrol station for weeks.
- LEPAS L6: L6 PHEV combines a petrol engine with an electric powertrain and includes hybrid-specific safety systems such as battery protection and thermal management. Its interior closely mirrors the EV variant, with the main differences being the addition of a front grille and fuel filler flap, while retaining the same premium digital cockpit and intelligent infotainment system focused on comfort and connectivity.
5. When?
The hype is real. LEPAS has already confirmed its commitment to Malaysia with a massive retail expansion:
- Official Launch: Set for H1 2026.
- 20 Outlets Nationwide: From KL and Selangor to Johor, Penang, Sarawak, and Sabah, they are launching with a full service network from day one (targeting 30 outlets by end-2026).
- Lifestyle Experience Centre: A signature hub is coming to the Klang Valley, where you can experience "Elegant Technology" in person.

LEPAS is clearly bridging the gap between high-end tech and actual elegance. Whether you want the commanding presence of the L8, the tech-heavy L6, or the agile, city-chic L4 (which has already been spotted in Malaysia!), Chery’s newest sibling is proving that you don't have to sacrifice style for smarts.
