It’s Happening! After Years Of Delays, The LRT3 Is Finally Ready To Start Operations
-full_normal.jpg)
Klang Valley commuters, it is time to take a deep breath and prepare to say goodbye to some of that soul-crushing morning traffic. If you have spent the last few years staring at the massive concrete train tracks running through PJ, Shah Alam, and Klang, wondering if they would ever actually open, we finally have the ultimate update for you.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke has officially confirmed that the long-awaited LRT3 line is set to begin operations by the end of this month. After years of staring at construction barriers and navigating sudden lane diversions, the final countdown has officially begun.
Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming launch.
"All Trial Operations Have Been Completed"

For those who are skeptical about jumping onto a brand-new rail line on day one, the Transport Minister has offered some much-needed reassurance. Anthony Loke assured the public that the ongoing trial operations ahead of the public launch have run completely smoothly without any issues.
“All trials operations have been completed and we are confident that LRT3 is ready to be launched by the end of this month," Loke stated during a press conference on Monday.
So, when can you actually tap your Touch 'n Go card and board the train? While we know it will be up and running by late June, the government is keeping the specific calendar day under wraps for just a little bit longer.
Loke shared that the exact date for the LRT3’s official launch will be announced sometime within the next two weeks.

A Long Journey Since 2017

To say this project has required a lot of patience from local residents would be a massive understatement. Officially known as the Shah Alam Line, construction on this vital public transport link first kicked off all the way back in 2017.
While it was highly anticipated to heavily improve overall Klang Valley connectivity, the project's official completion date ended up being pushed back several times over the last two years.
Thankfully, the delays are firmly in the past, and the line is finally ready to step up as a major alternative to the heavily congested Federal Highway, NKVE, and KESAS highway networks.
