Six service bays. Capacity for up to 35 vehicles daily. That's the aftersales capability behind BYD Sime Motors' newly opened Miri 3S Centre, and arguably the more interesting part of its latest Sarawak expansion.

Because while a showroom helps customers choose their next EV, it's the workshop they'll depend on long after taking delivery.

Officially opened on 12 October 2026, the new facility brings sales, servicing and spare parts support together under one roof, strengthening BYD's presence in northern Sarawak.

More Than Just A Showroom

Spanning 12,228 sq ft, the new Miri facility is BYD's largest 3S centre in Sarawak to date.

Operated by Kah Progression Auto Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oriental Holdings Berhad, the centre also features a customer lounge, discussion room, dedicated vehicle delivery bay and EV charging facilities for sales and service customers.

Why Aftersales Matters For Sarawak EV Owners

Range, charging speed and price often dominate EV-buying conversations. But there's another question worth asking: Where do you go when your EV needs attention?

For BYD owners in Miri, having an authorised service facility in town adds a local point of contact for maintenance, warranty-related enquiries and spare parts assistance.

That's particularly relevant in Sarawak, where travelling between major towns can involve considerable distances.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR BYD OWNERS

📦 Spare Parts Support
A local point of contact for parts-related enquiries.

🚗 Greater Network Coverage
Another authorised location in Sarawak, alongside Kuching and Sibu.

The Miri opening brings BYD's authorised network in Sarawak to three locations, joining its existing outlets in Kuching and Sibu.

It also builds on BYD's wider East Malaysian expansion, including the opening of its first 3S centre in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, in December 2024.

Where Is The New BYD Miri 3S Centre?

The new facility is located at Lot 1829, Jalan Krokop Utama, 98000 Miri, Sarawak. Its reported operating hours are 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Saturday, and 9 AM to 4 PM on Sunday. Customers should confirm service appointment availability before visiting.

Meanwhile, BYD will also be holding a roadshow at Bintang Megamall, Miri, from 16 to 18 October 2026, running from 10 AM to 10 PM daily.

For BYD, the Miri opening isn't just another pin on its dealership map. It's another piece of the aftersales network that helps make EV ownership more practical in East Malaysia.
