Mercedes-Benz EQV 300

The Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 Avantgarde is a fully electric seven-seat luxury MPV sold in Malaysia as a single fully imported variant. The current 2025 facelift continues unchanged into 2026, priced at RM450,350 on-the-road without insurance.

It uses a front-mounted electric motor producing 150 KW or 204 PS and 365 NM, paired with a 90-kWh usable battery delivering up to 374 KM of WLTP range. Warranty coverage includes two years or 200,000 KM for the vehicle and eight years or 160,000 KM for the high-voltage battery. 

The redesigned dashboard features two adjoining 12.3-inch displays, comprising a digital instrument cluster and MBUX infotainment touchscreen. Redesigned air vents and 64-colour ambient lighting provide a more modern appearance than the pre-facelift model. 

The centre console contains storage compartments, multimedia controls, a wireless smartphone charger and a 12-volt power socket. Its straightforward arrangement suits both personal and chauffeur-driven use. 

The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster displays speed, remaining range, energy consumption, navigation instructions and driver-assistance information. It forms a single widescreen panel with the matching infotainment display. 

All seven seats are upholstered in Lugano leather. The driver and front passenger receive powered adjustment and lumbar support, while the two individual second-row seats improve comfort and third-row access. 

The EQV accommodates seven occupants in a 2-2-3 configuration. Its long wheelbase, tall roof and wide cabin provide excellent headroom and legroom across all three rows. 

The multifunction steering wheel features capacitive controls for media, driver information, voice commands and assistance systems. Reach and rake adjustment allow the driver to find a comfortable seating position.

Numerous storage areas are positioned around the dashboard, doors and centre console. The large rear cabin also allows the seating arrangement to be adjusted according to passenger and luggage requirements.

Cup holders are integrated into the front centre-console area, with additional drink storage available for occupants in the rear passenger compartment.

A wireless smartphone charging pad is provided at the front, together with USB connections and a 12-volt accessory socket for charging mobile devices. 

Lugano leather upholstery, ambient lighting and neatly integrated digital displays create a suitably premium environment. Its van-based origins remain noticeable in the upright layout, but the materials and equipment provide a more luxurious passenger experience.

The EQV provides approximately 610 litres of luggage capacity with all three seating rows in use. Its tall and square cargo area is particularly practical for carrying large suitcases or airport-transfer luggage. 

The EQV 300 measures 5,140 MM long, 1,918 MM wide and 1,923 MM tall, with a substantial 3,200-MM wheelbase. Its large footprint provides generous passenger space but requires additional care in narrow urban areas and parking structures. 

The facelift introduces a revised gloss-black front grille with illuminated surrounds and a prominent Mercedes-Benz star. Painted lower-bumper elements give the large MPV a cleaner and more premium appearance.

The upright rear design prioritises luggage capacity and passenger headroom. Chrome trim, Mercedes-Benz lettering and an electrically operated EASY-PACK tailgate add a more upmarket finish.

Adaptive MULTIBEAM LED headlamps are fitted, providing improved illumination and automatically adjusting the lighting pattern according to surrounding traffic. 

Full-LED rear combination lamps provide a clear lighting signature while maintaining the EQV’s familiar upright van-derived design.

Large exterior mirrors provide good visibility along the vehicle’s lengthy body. Blind Spot Assist displays warnings when another vehicle is detected beside the EQV.

Four-wheel disc brakes work together with ABS, electronic stability control and regenerative braking. The regenerative system helps slow the vehicle while returning energy to the battery.

The Malaysian EQV 300 rides on new 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 245/55 R17 tyres. The relatively tall tyre sidewalls favour comfort over sporty handling. 

Active-safety equipment includes Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, tyre-pressure monitoring, electronic stability control and hill-start assistance. 

The Malaysian EQV 300 is equipped with six airbags, including front, thorax-pelvis side and curtain airbags extending towards the rear passenger compartment. 

Four driving modes are provided: Comfort, Sport, Eco and Maximum Range or ECO+. These settings adjust accelerator response, climate operation and energy usage.

The 12.3-inch MBUX touchscreen supports voice control through LINGUATRONIC, together with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation, media, vehicle settings and charging information are accessed through the system.

Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC maintains a selected distance from the vehicle ahead. Attention Assist, Active Parking Assist, front and rear sensors and a 360-degree camera further assist the driver when operating the large MPV.

A 640-W Burmester surround-sound system uses 15 speakers and a bass-reflex enclosure. It provides strong audio coverage throughout the EQV’s sizeable three-row cabin. 

A single front-mounted electric motor produces 150 KW or 204 PS and 365 NM. Its output prioritises smooth power delivery and passenger comfort rather than high-performance acceleration. 

Power is delivered through a single-speed electric reduction transmission. The system provides seamless acceleration without conventional gear changes.

The EQV 300 uses a front-wheel-drive configuration. Positioning the motor at the front allows the rear passenger and cargo compartments to remain spacious and unobstructed. 

The EQV 300 accelerates from 0 to 100 KM/H in approximately 12.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 KM/H. 

Its 90-kWh usable lithium-ion battery provides up to 374 KM of WLTP range, or 418 KM under the NEDC cycle. It supports 11-KW AC charging, requiring approximately 10 hours for a full charge, while 110-KW DC charging replenishes the battery from 10% to 80% in around 40 minutes.

Convenience features include keyless entry and ignition, electrically operated sliding doors on both sides, a powered EASY-PACK tailgate, wireless charging and a sliding panoramic sunroof. 

THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control is provided for the front cabin, while semi-automatic TEMPMATIC rear climate control distributes air through dedicated ceiling-mounted vents.

The EQV is tuned primarily for comfortable passenger transportation. Its long wheelbase and 17-inch wheels help provide a composed ride, although the vehicle’s considerable size and battery weight remain noticeable over uneven surfaces.

The quiet electric motor removes the engine vibration and combustion noise associated with diesel-powered vans. Road and wind noise are generally well controlled, creating a calm environment for rear passengers during relaxed journeys.

The Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 combines genuine seven-seat practicality with a refined electric drivetrain and premium cabin equipment. Its spacious 2-2-3 interior, powered sliding doors, Burmester sound system and comfortable ride make it particularly suitable for executive transport, luxury hotels and large families.

However, its RM450,350 price, moderate 374-KM WLTP range and relatively slow 110-KW DC charging rate place it behind several newer electric MPVs in terms of value and battery technology. Performance is also modest, with the EQV focusing more on comfort and passenger space than acceleration. Overall, it remains a specialised choice for buyers who specifically value the Mercedes-Benz badge and proven V-Class practicality.
