If you happened to be around the heart of Kuala Lumpur early on Sunday morning, 17 May, you probably noticed a massive, high-energy wave of people completely taking over the roads. No, it wasn't a standard protest or a typical morning rush, it was the first-ever KLIMS Run 2026!

Marking a major milestone in the official countdown to the highly anticipated Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026 this June, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) successfully launched its first community run. Flagging off at 7:00 AM sharp from Dataran Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), the event drew an incredible crowd of over 1,000 participants!

Cardio, Cars, & Massive Freebies

Held in conjunction with the beloved KL Car-Free Morning initiative, the streets were entirely clear of engine roars, replaced instead by the sounds of footsteps and cheering. Fitness junkies, casual joggers, families, and hard-core gearheads ran side-by-side across two vibrant categories: a brisk 5KM route and a more challenging 7KM track.

But let’s be honest, what’s a great weekend run without some epic race kits? Participants didn't just burn some Sunday morning calories; they also walked away with a limited-edition event t-shirt, a commemorative finisher medal, a race bib, and a drawstring bag.

The absolute cherry on top? Every single runner bagged a complimentary ticket to KLIMS 2026!

A Tech Plot Twist: Someone Went Home With A MacBook Neo!

As if a free entry ticket to Malaysia's biggest auto show wasn't enough, MAA decided to crank the excitement levels up to eleven.

Once the running shoes were tied and the finish line was crossed, the crowd gathered for a highly anticipated lucky draw session. While multiple attractive prizes were handed out, a few incredibly lucky Malaysians went home with the ultimate workspace upgrade: the grand prize of a brand-new MacBook Neo! Talk about an amazing return on investment for a Sunday morning workout.

Driving Real Change: RM5,000 Donated To PUSPEN Dengkil

True to this year's KLIMS theme of “Beyond Mobility,” the event proved that the automotive community is about a lot more than just horsepower and shiny new concept cars, it's also about lifting up local communities.

During the event, MAA presented a RM5,000 contribution to the Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) Dengkil, a government-run facility under the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) providing structured rehabilitation care. Supported by the Selangor Youth Community (SAY), this wholesome outreach project aims to broaden youth engagement and bring a sense of inclusivity to the mobility show's grand return.

“As lifestyles evolve, mobility must also play a role in connecting communities, supporting wellbeing, and creating shared experiences,” said Mr. Mohd Shamsor bin Mohd Zain, President of MAA.

What’s Next? Get Ready For KLIMS 2026 This June!

Now that the pre-show run has wrapped up with massive success, all eyes are officially on the main event.

Making its grand return for its 11th edition, KLIMS 2026 is locked in to take place from 12 to 21 June 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

Whether you're looking to check out headline vehicle launches, witness breakthrough autonomous tech, or sit inside the latest electric vehicles from global and local automotive giants, this is the one exhibition you absolutely cannot miss.
