First Batch of GWM Ora Good Cat Lands on Malaysian Shoreline

The GWM Ora Good Cat is one of the most anticipated new EVs to hit our local market. Recently launched in Malaysia, the first batch of the Good Cat has finally arrived in Malaysia, poised for deliveries to customers and dealers nationwide.

Built and assembled in Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) Taizhou Smart Factory plant in Jiangsu China, the Ora Good Cat has received more than 100 bookings within the first week of its Malaysian debut in Nov last month. This rather rave reception from rowdy Malaysians is thanks to the Good Cat’s relatively reasonable pricings, as well as the comprehensive package offered by GWM.

From the photos, it seems like most of the newly-arrived Good Cats are donned in the EM Beige and Wisdom Brown two-tone hue, while some sport the Verdant Green colour with White roof finish.

Dubbed as the cheapest EV in Malaysia (so far), the Good Cat comes in two variants, namely the 400 Pro and 500 Ultra. The lower spec 400 Pro boasts a 47.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that offers up to 400 KM of maximum travel range. Meanwhile, the 500 Ultra variant is equipped with Ternary Lithium battery pack rated at 63.1-kWh, thus giving the up-specced Good Cat a maximum travel range of 500 KM.
Both variants are powered by the same single motor powertrain that outputs 140 HP and 210 NM. This, in turn, grants the Good Cat a 7.9 seconds finish in a 0-100 KM/H sprint, while its V-Max is governed at 152 KM/H.

The Ora Good Cat is priced at a competitive rate of RM139,800 for the baseline 400 Pro variant, while the range-topping 500 Ultra spec commands a higher RM169,800 price tag. For both prices, GWM Malaysia includes complementary portable and home chargers for all customers, plus a 5-year or 160,000 KM vehicle warranty plus free labour for service maintenance.

As of writing, the Ora Good Cat remains the cheapest all-electric vehicle in our local market, with its closest price point rival being the recently launched BYD Atto 3 SUV and Hyundai Kona Electric, both priced at RM149,800 and RM156,538 respectively.
The GWM Ora Good Cat is currently open for booking via GWM Malaysia’s website or in any one of GWM Malaysia’s showrooms located in Glenmarie, Puchong and Penang.
