PNB And Gentari Collaborate To Install 59 EV Chargers By Year-End

By the end of the year, 18 properties owned by the PNB group will have 59 electric vehicle (EV) charging units installed by Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) and Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari).
The EV chargers will be placed in a variety of locations, including offices, hotels and resorts, golf courses, and shopping centers, according to Rick Ramli, PNB's Chief Investment Officer for Private and Strategic Investments.
"This initiative is in line with the commitment to PNB's Sustainability Framework in driving our portfolio's decarbonization efforts, as well as to support the EV ecosystem under the government's Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2021-2030," he said.
According to Haikal Zubir, chief operating officer of Gentari Green Mobility, the company is pleased to collaborate with PNB because both organisations have the same goals in mind for the development of green mobility.
The expansion of Gentari's EV charging infrastructure to the East Coast states, he added, will boost interstate driving confidence.
"Through this collaboration, Gentari will provide the necessary infrastructure at PNB's properties to support the needs of EV drivers," he added. On April 21, 2022, PNB unveiled its Sustainability Framework, outlining 10 commitments for both its internal business practises and external investments under the environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) thrusts. The framework will assist PNB in staying focused in the dynamic global investment environment and in meeting its goal of becoming a net zero enterprise by 2025 in conjunction with its investment arms.
