EON Appointed As smart Malaysia Dealer - 5 More Dealers To Be Announced Soon!

Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON), the automobile retail branch of DRB-HICOM, has been appointed as an official dealer for smart Malaysia by Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET).
EON's appointment follows the addition of the Hap Seng Smart to the PRO-NET portfolio earlier this month, with five further dealership appointments to be revealed shortly.
This collaboration with EON is another historic milestone for PROTON and its subsidiary group, as EON pioneered the evolution of Malaysia's automotive industry nearly four decades ago as PROTON's first and exclusive dealer for Proton vehicles.

The addition of EON to the smart family would increase the EV brand's visibility and recognition among Malaysian automobile consumers. The award-winning smart #1 will be released in the fourth quarter of 2023.
EON is one of the country's major multi-brand dealerships, representing various notable car brands such as Proton, Audi, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen.
According to Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET, “We are very excited to be partnering with a well-established and trusted brand in the automotive industry. PRO-NET believes EON’s vast knowledge and experience coupled with DRB-HICOM’s extensive customer reach will create an ideal synergy that will propel smart Malaysia’s vision to great heights, and we will continue to work with outstanding business partners in the industry to introduce premium brand experiences, products, and services.”

Adding on to that, Akkbar Danial, Chief Executive Officer and Head of Automotive Distribution for DRB-HICOM said, “EON is committed to contribute towards the success of this new partnership. We are led by a dynamic team with vast experience which gives us the advantage to create synergy with smart Malaysia to meet the demand for the smart #1 and yield a significant impact on the local market.’’
He also stated that EON has selected their famed Glenmarie automobile corridor to service customers from the region.
PRO-NET believes that automotive greatness entails more than just building the best vehicles. It also entails creating a thorough and seamless retail customer journey and experience.

Furthermore, PRO-NET believes that the establishment of these new premium dealerships is part of smart Malaysia's aim to introduce this all-electric automobile brand to savvy Malaysian EV purchasers.
smart is thus constructing an environment that permits e-mobility in its totality in order to provide great service to its clients. When combined with the smart mobile app, this would allow clients to go on a digital journey and enjoy online services ranging from product information to making orders and payments in a seamless manner.
The smart mobile app would also provide convenience when it comes to accessing EV charging facilities, allowing smart car owners to stay charged wherever they are putting the notion range anxiety to rest.

For the customer's piece of mind, all appointed smart dealers will also be equipped to provide comprehensive sales and service support. These centres would also be able to provide a premium consumer experience, such as rapid charging and repair services.
PRO-NET is optimistic about the company's EV journey this year, having aligned a powerful combination of technologically superior products, strong partners, and customer service dedication.
