Proton e.MAS EV Brand Will Be Fully-Managed by PRO-NET

Proton’s new energy subsidiary, PRO-NET, will be taking the reins in managing its new Proton e.MAS EV brand.
Proton New Energy Technology (PRO-NET), a new energy subsidiary of Proton, has taken the reins of the marque’s new EV brand, Proton e.MAS. This takeover announcement follows the official launch of the e.MAS branding that took place on June 12 this year.

Besides the dealer network establishment, PRO-NET will also handle the launch of Proton e.MAS' first EV model, which will be based in the Geely Galaxy E5 EV (right).
Part-and-parcel of this takeover is that PRO-NET now directly handles all the crucial roles and responsibilities needed in establishing the e.MAS EV brand, including preparing for its upcoming product launch, which is due to take place by the end of this year. PRO-NET’s new roles include recruiting a dedicated team, setting up a robust dealer network, and fostering partnerships with charging providers to ensure a seamless EV ecosystem.

With a proven track record of handling the smart Automobile brand in Malaysia, PRO-NET is more than ready to welcome the second EV brand under its burgeoning arms, which is Proton e.MAS. To date, PRO-NET has successfully launched the smart #1, currently a top contender in the premium SUV segment, and is now preparing for the impending introduction of the smart #3, set to debut some time later this year.

Proton CEO Dr. Li Chunrong
"The expertise PRO-NET has developed over the past two years positions us uniquely to elevate Proton e.MAS to the forefront of the EV industry. Our future customers will benefit from a holistic range of services that not only meet but exceed their expectations, similar to the premium experience provided to smart vehicle owners," said Dr. Li Chunrong, CEO of Proton Holdings.

Prior to this takeover, Proton previously organised the EV brand name contest, which saw over 25,000 participants partake in this competition. Of all the thousands of applicants, the top grand prize worth RM5,000 goes to Puteri Hanna Batrisha binti Ibrahim. This is followed by the first runner-up, Noor Hidayah Binti Mohd Rodzi, who brought home RM1,500, and the third prize winner of RM1,000 goes to Ahmad Norrizzuan Bin Noor Azhar.

To get local automotive fans excited about its new EV brand, Proton and PRO-NET have also set up the official social media channels for the Proton e.MAS EV brand, under the name of "Proton e.MAS Cars'' for Facebook and Xiaohongshu. Instagram and TikTok users can also find Proton e.MAS at “@protonemasofficial” to get the latest updates and developments.
