Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Pre-Sale Opens In China at RM500K

THE Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype has taken the spotlight by setting a new record for the fastest four-door at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, clocking an impressive lap time of 6:46.874 on October 24.

While this is a groundbreaking achievement, the production version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, set for release in March 2025, will not quite match the prototype's performance. The production model will have a heavier kerb weight of 1,900 KG, compared to the lightweight carbon fibre body of the prototype. Xiaomi has detailed plans to return in 2025 to break the record for mass production vehicle next.
Now available for pre-sale in China priced from RMB814,900 (RM500,000), the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is an electric saloon that combines sleek design with cutting-edge performance. Building upon the regular SU7 as recently displayed at KLCC, the Ultra variant features sportier bumpers, large rear spoiler, and a wider body.

The car’s dimensions are 5,115 MM long with a 3,000 MM wheelbase, 1,970 Mm wide, and 1,465 Mm tall, with. Its striking 1560 MM wide rear spoiler, combined with an active rear diffuser, generates an impressive 265 KG of downforce. It rides on 21-inch wheels shod in Pirelli P Zero 5 tyres for enhanced grip and performance.

Inside, the SU7 Ultra offers a premium sporty feel complete with yellow seatbelts, an Alcantara-covered steering wheel, seats and interior panels. Carbon fibre accents are also present on the door steps, centre console and even the rearview mirror enhance the luxurious interior ambiance.

The SU7 Ultra is powered by a 93.7 kWh CATL Qilin 2.0 battery that supports 5.2C DC charging. With a maximum discharge power of 1,330 kW, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 11 minutes at a DC charging power of around 490 kW.
Its tri-motor setup puts out a staggering 1,138 kW (1,526 HP) and 1,770 NM of torque enabling a 0 to 100 KM/H dashes in just 1.98 secs, 0-200 KM/H in 5.86 secs, and a V-Max of 350 KM/H.

Safety and braking performance are also top-tier in the SU7 Ultra, which is brimmed with Akebono 6-piston front and 4-piston rear callipers grabbing carbon ceramic rotors, the largest ever seen on a sportscar. This 430 MM x 40 MM front and 410 MM x 32 MM rear kit halts the SU7 Ultra to a standstill in just 30.8 metres, with brake temperatures capable of reaching a staggering 1,300°C.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun emphasised during the launch that the SU7 Ultra’s target is set on competitors such as the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
Xiaomi has also reported strong pre-sale results, with 3,680 units of the SU7 Ultra orders secured within just 10 minutes of the presentation. Goldman Sachs projects sales of around 4,000 units of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in 2025.
For context, the regular SU7 sedan has already achieved impressive sales, with over 20,000 units delivered in Oct alone, and a target of 120,000 units by year-end.
