MAS 2025: Jetour eVT5 EV Previewed – B-SUV with 356 km NEDC Range

Making its silent debut at the ongoing Malaysia Autoshow 2025 is the upcoming Jetour eVT5 all-electric B-SUV.
Making its silent debut amongst the VT9 three-row SUV and the T2 rugged SUV at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025) is what perhaps could be Jetour Malaysia’s first all-electric model, the Jetour eVT5. Shown in a right-hand drive (RHD) form, the eVT5 belongs to the burgeoning electric B-SUV, where it will face stiff competition should it ever debut locally.

Squint your eyes hard enough and you’ll immediately notice that the eVT5 is essentially a Jetour-badged version of the Kaiyi X3 Pro EV, which by itself is a heavily reskinned version of the pre-facelift Chery Tiggo 4 Pro. As a result, the eVT5 gets the same dimensions as both its Kaiyi and Chery twins, spanning 4,443 mm long, 1,831 mm wide, 1,646 mm tall, and has a 2,632 mm wheelbase.

Inside, the eVT5 cabin looks slightly outdated compared to its newer Chery cousins, but things aren’t as bad as we initially thought. Some key design bits include a 10.25-inch central infotainment screen, a digital metre cluster, leather-wrapped seats, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, and physical controls for the climate.
Now, to the important bits: the eVT5 gets the same powertrain and battery specs as the X3 Pro EV, where it harnesses a single, front-mounted (FWD) electric motor rated at 161 HP and 280 NM. Juice is provided by a 53.6-kWh LFP battery pack sourced from CATL, which is good enough to grant this B-SUV a modest NEDC range of 356 km.

The charging rate is also quite modest, as the LFP pack takes about 30 minutes to be charged from 30 to 80%. And just like the Chery Omoda E5, both the AC and DC charging ports are located at the front part of the car.

As of now, Jetour Malaysia has yet to iterate any plans to introduce the eVT5 into our market, but the automaker does express interest in bringing several other models into our market, and both the previewed T2 and eVT5 were among the top candidates for that. Should they manage to locally assemble (CKD) this EV SUV alongside both the Dashing and VT9, could this be the next sub-RM100,000 EV to debut into our market?
