TQ Wuling Bingo EV Open For Booking - Launching Soon?

Following TQ Wuling’s confirmation that local assembly (CKD) for the Bingo EV will begin this Dec at TCMA Segambut, the brand has now opened bookings for its first Malaysian units, signaling that the official launch is drawing near.
The online booking site lists two variants for the Malaysian market: the 333 KM “Pro” and the 410 KM “Max.” Both feature a dual-tone exterior with a black roof. The Pro comes in Neon Blue and Milky White, while the Max adds Lavender Purple to the same two color options.

Customers can secure a unit with a RM50 booking fee and select the dealership where they would like to collect their car. There are four dealerships in the central region, three in the southern region, five in the northern region, and three on the east coast.
TQ Wuling had previously announced a price around RM100,000, but with CKD production, the launch price is expected to be significantly lower, potentially making the Bingo one of Malaysia’s most affordable EVs.

For context, the Proton e.MAS 5 has already launched, with prices starting at RM56,800 (Prime) and RM69,800 (Premium) after rebates, while the Perodua QV-E is also expected to arrive soon.
Both Bingo variants feature a front-mounted motor producing 67 hp and 150 Nm, paired with Wuling Magic LFP batteries - 31.9 kWh for the Pro and 37.9 kWh for the Max. The Pro delivers a 333 KM CLTC range (273 KM WLTP), while the Max extends that to 410 KM (336 KM).

Additionally, the Max variant can accelerate from 0–50 km/h in 5.3 secs and has a claimed top speed of 130 km/h. Both variants feature a 50 kW DC fast charging abilities, which is said to bring the battery from 30–80% in around 35 mins.
Based on the pre-production model we observed, the Bingo appears to be a four-seater, with only two rear seat belts. This is an important distinction for buyers comparing compact EVs, as many rivals in the segment are designed to seat five.

Standard equipment for the Bingo is expected to include LED lighting, dual 10.25-inch displays, keyless entry and ignition, leatherette upholstery, and powered seats. But does this make it a strong contender in the entry-level EV segment, especially now that the Proton e.MAS 5 is already on sale with significantly better specs?
Aside from the Bingo’s claimed longer range, could its expected pricing and CKD status give it the edge over the e.MAS 5, despite the latter’s advantages in equipment and features?
