Perodua Traz/Nexis D66B Set to Debut on December 17

The long-awaited Perodua Traz/Nexis D66B SUV is set to make its official debut later on December 17, 2025.
Following its teaser earlier this week, Perodua has now confirmed that its next model, reportedly the long-awaited Perodua Traz/Nexis D66B, is set to make its official debut in five days' time, or December 17, 2025.
Announced via yet another teaser image published on its social media channels, accompanied by a caption that reads, “Something new is coming. Built on the strength of the Perodua ecosystem, it’s guaranteed to be something you can count on.”

Fortunately, this time around the car is only partially draped in shadow, so now we can clearly see some parts of the car in light. For starters, we can now tell that the Traz/Nexis D66B will get the same Cranberry Red exterior colour seen on the facelifted third-gen (MG3) Perodua Myvi.
On top of that, it also features a slew of black accents, including on its side mirror caps, side skirts, and the wheel arches, but not the roof—thus indicating that it might not get the same two-tone colourway option seen on its original donor model, the DNGA-based Toyota Yaris Cross.

A further inspection of this new teaser image also shows that P2's upcoming B-segment SUV will get the same alloy wheel design seen on the Thai-spec Toyota Yaris Cross, featuring a dual five-spoke design finished in a two-tone silver and black colourway. Other than those and its front grille design with a Perodua badge seen on the first teaser, most of the car’s parts look more or less similar to its Toyota twin.
Again, not many details were shared regarding the powertrain details or the rest of the car’s specs, but we do know that the Traz/Nexis D66B will be a Perodua twin to the DNGA-based Toyota Yaris Cross, which was specifically designed and developed for the Southeast Asian market.

For reference, the Yaris Cross is offered in either a full combustion 1.2-litre 4-cyl nat-asp 2NR-VE engine option or a peppier 1.5-litre 4-cyl 2NR-VEX petrol hybrid option, with the latter being augmented with an electric motor and an e-CVT automatic gearbox.

With Perodua now announcing the official launch date for the upcoming Traz/Nexis D66B, this has finally put all the rumours to bed, as talks of P2 launching this DNGA-based SUV started way back in 2024. Then, the project was eventually delayed and pushed back to make way for the development of Perodua’s first EV model, the Perodua QV-E, which is dubbed as Malaysia’s first homegrown electric vehicle.
