Perodua QV-E Expands Nationwide: First Units Arrive in Sabah and Sarawak

The "National EV" has officially set its sights on new horizons. Perodua confirmed yesterday, June 25, 2026, that the first units of the QV-E are currently in transit to East Malaysia, marking a significant step in the manufacturer’s push to bring its electric ecosystem to the entire country.

For motorists in Sabah and Sarawak, the wait for Malaysia’s first homegrown electric sportback will conclude on July 15, 2026, when the model becomes available at authorized showrooms. 

This arrival follows a pivotal year for the QV-E, which has seen production optimizations and a recent localization shift that has successfully streamlined costs, benefits that Perodua is now extending to buyers nationwide.

Flexible Ownership Models

The QV-E will be offered in East Malaysia with the same dual-pathway approach that has defined its reception in the Peninsula:

• Outright Purchase: Buyers in Sabah and Sarawak can purchase the unit outright for RM96,999, which is further reduced to RM90,499 after a special RM6,500 rebate.
• Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS): For those seeking a lower point of entry, the BaaS model is available at a base price of RM72,999, effectively dropping to RM66,499 with the rebate. This subscription-based model includes a monthly fee of RM215, which guarantees the battery’s health (minimum 70% State of Health) and provides comprehensive coverage for the duration of the lease.

Power and Performance

The QV-E arrives in East Malaysia with the same technical capabilities that have made it a standout in the local market. The front-mounted electric motor delivers 204 PS (150 kW) and 285 Nm of torque, capable of a 0–100 km/h sprint in 7.5 seconds. With a top speed of 165 km/h and a WLTP-rated range of 370 km, the vehicle is well-positioned for the diverse driving demands of East Malaysia’s urban and sub-urban environments.

Furthermore, the vehicle’s fast-charging capability, allowing for a 30% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes via 60kW DC charging, aligns with the ongoing expansion of the regional charging grid.

Looking Ahead

With the first units on the way, Perodua is signaling a clear intent: the transition to electric mobility is not confined to the Klang Valley. 

Prospective buyers in Sabah and Sarawak can expect an announcement regarding specific showroom availability in the coming days, with test drives expected to commence shortly after the July 15 launch date.
