The new BYD Seal is a fully electric four-door sports sedan offered in Malaysia in two variants – Premium and Performance.

Both variants use an 82.56 KWH BYD Blade Battery, with the Premium featuring a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup while the Performance adds a second motor for all-wheel drive.

The Premium produces 230 KW and 360 NM, while the Performance delivers a combined 390 KW and 670 NM. Maximum NEDC driving range stands at 650 KM and 580 KM respectively.

Interior

Dashboard


The cabin features a layered and driver-oriented dashboard incorporating BYD's flowing Ocean-inspired styling.

A 10.25-INCH LCD instrument cluster sits ahead of the driver, while a large rotating infotainment display dominates the centre of the dashboard.

Centre Console


The Seal features a floating centre console designed to create a more open cabin layout.

It houses storage areas, vehicle controls and two wireless smartphone charging pads, while metallic trim extends across the dashboard to enhance its premium appearance.

Instrument Cluster

Instrumentation is displayed through a 10.25-INCH LCD instrument cluster positioned directly ahead of the driver.

Up front, the Seal adopts BYD's Ocean Aesthetics styling with a low nose, smooth closed-off fascia and distinctive X-shaped design treatment.

Its sculpted bonnet and low-set lighting elements emphasise the sedan's sporty and aerodynamic character.

Rear View


The rear adopts a wide and streamlined design, complemented by a full-width lighting treatment and an integrated rear windscreen-mounted antenna.

An electrically operated one-touch tailgate is equipped as standard.

Headlamps

Lighting is provided by LED headlamps featuring BYD's distinctive twin U-shaped light cluster design.

Also equipped are automatic headlamp functions, High Beam Assist, LED daytime running lights and a Follow Me Home function.

Tail Lamps

At the rear, the Seal features LED combination tail lamps linked visually across the width of the vehicle.

Engine

As a battery-electric vehicle, the Seal does not use a conventional combustion engine.

The Premium uses a rear-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 230 KW and 360 NM.

The Performance adds a front induction asynchronous motor to the same 230 KW rear motor, producing a combined 390 KW and 670 NM.

Transmission

Both variants use a single-speed reduction transmission typical of battery-electric vehicles, delivering power directly from the electric motor to the driven wheels.

Drivetrain

The Premium is rear-wheel drive with a single rear-mounted electric motor.

Meanwhile, the Performance uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with separate electric motors powering the front and rear axles.

The Premium accelerates from 0-100 KM/H in 5.9 seconds.

Fuel Consumption
