Summary

The Grecale Folgore is Maserati’s first fully electric SUV, combining a five-seat luxury crossover body with dual-motor all-wheel drive. Its two electric motors produce 410 KW or 557 PS and 820 NM, allowing 0–100 KM/H in 4.1 seconds and a 220-KM/H top speed.

A large 105-kWh battery provides up to 500 KM of claimed WLTP range. Unlike Maserati’s 800-volt GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore models, the Grecale uses a 400-volt architecture, supporting 22-KW AC and 150-KW DC charging.

Interior

Dashboard

The driver faces a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while the centre of the dashboard houses a 12.3-inch Maserati Intelligent Assistant touchscreen and separate 8.8-inch Comfort Display for climate and secondary functions.

A configurable digital Maserati clock sits above the centre air vents and can display information beyond the time, including vehicle and voice-assistant functions.

Centre Console

Replacing the traditional gear lever with electronic controls creates an uncluttered centre console with storage, cup holders and a wireless smartphone charging area. Most climate and vehicle settings are handled through the 8.8-inch lower touchscreen.

Instrument Cluster

The 12.3-inch configurable digital instrument cluster displays speed, remaining range, energy consumption, navigation and driver-assistance information. Its graphics change according to the selected driving mode.

Seats

The Folgore uses premium upholstery incorporating ECONYL regenerated nylon, with patterns inspired by Italian architect Pier Luigi Nervi. Leather and additional colour combinations are available depending on specification and Fuoriserie personalisation.

Electrically adjustable front seats are available with heating and ventilation, while the broad rear bench provides seating for three passengers.

Space

The 2,903-MM wheelbase gives the Grecale Folgore generous accommodation for five occupants. Its EV drivetrain also provides a flatter rear floor than the combustion models, improving comfort for the centre rear passenger.

Steering Functions

The multifunction steering wheel provides controls for media, vehicle information and driver assistance. Regenerative-braking paddles allow several levels of energy recuperation to be selected without entering the touchscreen menus.

Storage Space

Storage areas include the glovebox, door pockets, centre-console compartments and rear-seat pockets. The Grecale Folgore does not provide a conventional front luggage compartment, as the space ahead of the passenger cell is occupied by electric-drive and auxiliary components.

Cup Holders

Two cup holders are integrated into the front centre console. Additional bottle storage is available within the door pockets, with rear drink holders incorporated around the second-row seating area.

Charging Ports

Wireless smartphone charging and USB connectivity are available in the cabin. Smartphone integration also allows compatible devices to connect wirelessly to the infotainment system.

Build Quality

The Folgore combines leather, recycled ECONYL, metallic detailing and soft-touch surfaces throughout the cabin. Maserati’s extensive personalisation programme allows colours, trim and materials to be individually specified.

Boot Space

The rear luggage compartment provides 535 litres of capacity, giving the Grecale Folgore useful everyday practicality despite its large battery and performance-oriented drivetrain.

Exterior

Body Dimensions

The Grecale Folgore measures 4,865 MM long, 1,948 MM wide and 1,651 MM tall, with a 2,903-MM wheelbase. Kerb weight is approximately 2,480 KG, reflecting the substantial 105-kWh battery and dual-motor drivetrain.

Front View

The Folgore retains the Grecale’s low and imposing Maserati grille but adopts an EV-specific inverted grille treatment with reduced cooling openings. Redesigned bumpers and active aerodynamic elements help improve airflow around the front body.

Copper-coloured Folgore badging and detailing differentiate it from the GT and Trofeo combustion models.

Rear View

The broad rear body retains the Grecale’s boomerang-inspired tail lamps but removes the combustion models’ exhaust outlets. A Folgore-specific rear diffuser provides a cleaner and more aerodynamically optimised appearance.

Headlamps

Vertically arranged full-LED headlamps sit high within the front wings and are inspired by the Maserati MC20. Automatic lighting and LED daytime-running functions complement the distinctive design.

Tail Lamps

Full-LED rear lamps use the Grecale’s signature boomerang shape, taking inspiration from the Giugiaro-designed Maserati 3200 GT. A slim horizontal arrangement emphasises the SUV’s broad rear stance.

Side Mirror

The exterior mirrors are electrically adjustable and folding, with heating and automatic-dimming functions available according to specification. Frameless doors and flush exterior detailing further contribute to the Grecale’s premium appearance.

Brakes

Large four-wheel disc brakes work together with regenerative braking, ABS and Maserati’s Vehicle Dynamic Control Module. The Folgore uses distinctive brake-caliper finishes to separate it visually from the combustion-powered range.

Regenerative-braking intensity can also be adjusted using paddles behind the steering wheel.

Wheels

The Grecale Folgore is distinguished by 20-inch NEMBO aerodynamic alloy wheels, designed with lightning-inspired graphics and a Glossy Black finish. Larger wheel options may be available through Maserati’s configuration and Fuoriserie programmes.

Features

Active Safety

Available active-safety technology includes autonomous emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure assistance, Active Lane Management, blind-spot monitoring and intersection collision assistance.

Electronic stability control, traction control, ABS and tyre-pressure monitoring complement the driver-assistance systems.

Passive Safety

Multiple front, side and curtain airbags protect the passenger compartment, together with seatbelt pretensioners and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.

The high-voltage battery is integrated beneath the passenger compartment within a reinforced structure designed to protect it during an impact.

Drive Modes

The Folgore provides four dedicated driving modes: Max Range, GT, Sport and Off-Road. Max Range prioritises efficiency, GT provides balanced everyday behaviour, Sport sharpens the powertrain and chassis, while Off-Road adapts the vehicle for rougher surfaces.

Regenerative braking and suspension behaviour also vary according to the selected configuration.

Infotainment

The 12.3-inch Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) touchscreen uses an Android Automotive-based interface with navigation, voice commands and connected services. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported.

A separate 8.8-inch touchscreen controls climate and additional vehicle settings, reducing the number of conventional buttons across the dashboard.

Driver Assistance

Level 2 assistance functions available for the Grecale include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Keeping Assist, allowing the vehicle to manage following distance and lane positioning under appropriate conditions.

Parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are also available, although exact assistance equipment can vary according to the Malaysian vehicle configuration.

Sound System

A Sonus faber audio system is available, with the range-topping configuration using 21 speakers and approximately 1,285 watts of output. The system was specifically developed for the Grecale cabin.

Performance

Engine

The Grecale Folgore uses two electric motors, one powering each axle. Combined output is 410 KW or 557 PS, with maximum torque of 820 NM

Transmission

Each motor operates through a single-speed electric reduction gear. There is no conventional multi-speed transmission, allowing immediate torque delivery without gear changes.

Drivetrain

The Folgore uses permanent all-wheel drive, with the front and rear electric motors electronically controlled through Maserati’s Vehicle Dynamic Control Module.

Unlike the newly announced MY2027 version, the current Malaysian model does not have the newer AWD-disconnect function that can mechanically disengage the front axle.

Acceleration

The Grecale Folgore accelerates from 0 to 100 KM/H in 4.1 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 220 KM/H.

Its performance places it between conventional premium electric SUVs and more extreme high-output EVs while retaining a comfort-oriented family-SUV setup.

Fuel Consumption

A 105-kWh lithium-ion battery operates through a 400-volt electrical architecture and provides up to 500 KM of WLTP range. Official combined energy consumption is approximately 24 kWh per 100 KM.

The onboard AC charger supports up to 22 KW, while DC fast charging peaks at 150 KW. Maserati quotes approximately 29 minutes for a 20% to 80% DC charge, while around 100 KM of range can be added in roughly nine minutes under suitable conditions.

Comfort

Convenience

Convenience equipment includes keyless access, powered front seats, automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging and a powered tailgate, with additional comfort features dependent on configuration.

Maserati Connect provides remote access to selected vehicle information and charging functions through compatible connected devices.

Rear Air Vents

The Grecale platform offers three-zone automatic climate control, with dedicated rear air vents and a rear touchscreen interface allowing second-row occupants to adjust climate settings.

Ride Comfort

The Grecale Folgore uses adaptive air suspension with electronically controlled dampers, allowing ride height and damping characteristics to change according to driving mode and road conditions.

This helps the heavy 2,480-KG SUV maintain comfortable everyday ride quality while providing firmer body control in Sport mode.

Sound Insulation

Acoustic glass, extensive insulation and the naturally quiet electric drivetrain provide a refined cabin at cruising speeds. Road and wind noise are well isolated, while Sport mode can introduce a synthesised Maserati soundtrack for additional feedback.

Wrap Up

Conclusion

The Maserati Grecale Folgore successfully transfers much of the Grecale’s Italian luxury character into an electric SUV. Its 557-PS dual-motor system, 4.1-second acceleration, air suspension and spacious 535-litre boot give it a useful balance between performance and everyday practicality.

Its 22-KW AC capability is particularly useful, while the 500-KM claimed WLTP range remains respectable. The biggest technical weakness is the older 400-volt architecture and 150-KW DC charging rate, which now trails newer premium EVs such as the Porsche Macan Electric and BMW iX3.

Price is another consideration. The Folgore originally entered Malaysia at RM588,000 in 2025, while Maserati Malaysia's current model page lists RM618,800. That makes it a niche choice centred more on exclusivity, Italian design and Maserati character than outright EV value.
