Geome Xingyuan Launched In China From RM42K, Up To 410 KM Driving Range

Geely officially launched the Geome Xingyuan EV in China, available in five trims across two series: the Xingyuan and Xingyuan Up. This compact EV is priced between RMB69,800 to RMB98,800 (MYR 42,000 to MYR 60,000) and offers two CLTC ranges—310 KM and 410 KM respectively.
As part of Geely's ongoing global expansion, the Geome Xingyuan will join the Galaxy series alongside the Geely Galaxy E5. Notably, the Galaxy E5 served as the foundation for Proton’s e.MAS 7, co-developed through Proton and Geely’s partnership.

Proton has previously announced that two additional models will be introduced under the e.MAS lineup alongside the e.MAS 7. From the previous teaser silhouettes, we can pretty much be sure that the Geome Xingyuan will be rebadged as the e.MAS 5 for the Malaysian market.

The Geome Xingyuan, with its design resembling the smart #1, measures 4,135 MM in length with a 2,650 MM wheelbase, 1,805 MM wide, and 1,570 MM tall. This places it in close competition with models like the BYD Dolphin and the soon-to-launch Dongfeng Box S31 in Malaysia, making it a strong contender in the compact EV segment.
There are two powertrain shared across the vartiants offered, the 310 KM version is powered by a 58 kW (78 HP) electric motor with 130 NM of torque, while the 410 KM version features a more powerful 85 kW (114 HP) motor delivering 150 NM of torque.

With a top speed of 140 KM/H and a 0–50 KM/H sprint time of 3.9 secs, both variants provide respectable acceleration that makes them ideal for city life. On the other hand, the Geome Xingyuan employs Li-Po battery packs acquired from CATL, with capacities of 30.12 kWh and 40.16 kWh, in contrast to the Galaxy E5, which is equipped with Geely's Aegis LFP battery.

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which improve safety and driving convenience, are included in the Geome Xingyuan. These features include adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and automated emergency braking.
Additionally, the Geome Xingyuan will feature a symmetrical cockpit layout, highlighted by an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster and a multifunction steering wheel. Depending on the trim, the infotainment screen is either 10.1 inches or a larger 14.6-inch display, and both are integrated with Geely’s Flyme Auto system. Additional features include 50W wireless charging and voice assistant functionality.

Another important aspect of the car is its 36 storage spaces, which include a 70-litre frunk, a 10-litre glove box, and a 20-litre space beneath the centre console. With the rear seats folded down, the 375-litre boot is expandable up to 1,320 litres.

With its array of functions, affordable price, and intentions for a worldwide rollout, the Geome Xingyuan is expected to garner a lot of interest as it expands into new areas. Anticipated in Q1 2025, it will make its Malaysian premiere under a new name, probably Proton e.MAS 5.
